Timothy James is Co-Founder of The Elevate Leadership Group, an advisory firm specializing in market entry strategy and cross-border engagement for organizations pursuing international growth.

He also serves as Managing Partner of CC Sovereign, where he leads sovereign engagement, institutional capital alignment, and cross-border government financing initiatives.

Prior to his current roles, Timothy served as Enterprise Head of Funds Transfer at State Street Bank & Trust Company, where he led global funds transfer operations, enterprise risk reduction initiatives, and technology modernization efforts.

Earlier in his State Street career, he served as Global Business Continuity Director, helping strengthen operational resilience across critical business functions.

Timothy began his career in public service as a Program Manager supporting the United States Air Force, where he oversaw a multi-billion-dollar program and advised senior defense leaders at the Pentagon.

Timothy is a Presidential Leadership Scholar, selected to join a national cohort of leaders dedicated to addressing complex domestic and international challenges through training informed by four U.S. presidential administrations.

He previously served as Chair of the Lenny Zakim Fund, helping guide the organization’s mission of advancing equity and justice for under-resourced communities.

He also served as Treasurer of the U.S.-Algeria Business Council, overseeing financial strategy and supporting initiatives that strengthened cross-border economic partnerships.

Timothy holds an MBA from Brown University and IE Business School.

Throughout his career, he has focused on building partnerships across business, government, and civil society to advance economic growth, strengthen institutions, and create lasting impact.
